Diesel & Fuel Flow Meters for Saudi Industrial Applications
Request diesel flow measurement equipment for fuel transfer, bulk loading, truck unloading, generators, day tanks and maintenance replacements. AMAC reviews operating temperature, viscosity, expected flow rate, batch totalization and whether the measurement is operational or for regulated commercial transactions.

What kind of diesel flowmeter should you specify?
Positive-displacement (PD) fuel flow meter
Often considered for defined liquid-fuel transfer and volumetric totalization, especially where viscosity and repeatable batches matter. Confirm liquid cleanliness, allowable pressure loss, seals, air handling and correct flow direction.
Turbine flow meter
A practical option in clean, stable liquid-fuel service when the flow range is adequate. Viscosity, straight-run installation, flow conditioning, bearings, filtration and calibration significantly affect accuracy.
Coriolis mass flow meter
Provides direct mass flow measurement and can offer density-related information, useful for higher-value transfer and batching. Confirm equipment sizing, pressure drop, mounting vibration, process temperature and desired mass or volume reporting.
Ultrasonic or other non-intrusive approaches
Some configurations may suit liquid hydrocarbons or retrofit flow verification, depending on fluid properties, line condition and desired uncertainty. A clamp-on instrument is not automatically a revenue-grade fuel meter.
Fuel transfer application checklist
- Medium: diesel grade, density, viscosity, temperature and particulate/air content
- Pipe: internal diameter, schedule, material, pressure rating and flanges or threads
- Flow: minimum, normal and maximum L/min, m³/h or kg/h, plus batch size
- Use: tanker loading/unloading, dispenser, fuel skid, generator consumption or process transfer
- Integration: pulse output, 4–20 mA, HART, Modbus, batch controller, PLC or remote telemetry
- Compliance: any project standard, calibration certificate and legal metrology/custody-transfer approval required
Operational fuel metering versus custody-transfer metering
Fuel consumption monitoring can tolerate a different uncertainty class from invoiced commercial custody transfer. If a meter will determine commercial quantity, the buyer must specify applicable legal metrology requirements, calibration conditions and approval rules before equipment selection. AMAC will not represent an ordinary industrial meter as certified for regulated transactions without documentation.
Diesel tanker and generator monitoring
Flowmeters can be integrated with tank-level measurements, GPS tracking, dashboards and alarms to monitor delivery and consumption. To estimate reconciliation accuracy, consider changing tank shape, heel volume, return lines, sloshing, temperature and mechanical or sensor calibration. For a complete remote monitoring package, include SIM coverage, reporting intervals, power and maintenance requirements in the request.
