Industrial Gas Analyzers & Online Water Quality Instruments
Process analyzers are not interchangeable commodity sensors. Reliable industrial measurement starts with analyte species, concentration range, sample extraction/conditioning, process conditions and maintenance access. AMAC can review Saudi procurement and site-service requirements for gas analysis systems, gas detection integration and online water quality instrumentation.

Gas analyzers: what needs to be measured?
| Target | Measurement examples | System design |
|---|---|---|
| Oxygen (O₂) | Combustion tuning, inert gas and safety monitoring | Zirconia, paramagnetic or electrochemical as appropriate; pressure/temperature and sample treatment |
| CO / CO₂ | Boiler combustion, emissions and process control | NDIR/FTIR-type systems where suitable; sample composition/cross-interference |
| NOx / SO₂ | Stack and environmental monitoring | Applicable emissions standards, sample line conditioning, instrument ranges and calibration gases |
| H₂S / CH₄ / hydrocarbons | Gas processing, biogas and industrial safety | Application-specific analyzers/detectors, explosion protection and moisture treatment |
| Water pH / ORP / conductivity | RO, water treatment, chemical dosing | Sensor wet-end, Memosens/analog integration, sample cell and cleaning |
| Dissolved oxygen / chlorine / turbidity | Municipal/wastewater, disinfection, process quality | Sensor principle, sample flow, reagents or optical cleaning and calibration |
Representative analyzer model families
Siemens ULTRAMAT 23: multicomponent gas-analysis technical reference with IR and selectable companion modules, depending on configuration. ABB ACF5000: industrial FTIR analyzer-system reference with heated sample processing and analyzer shelters. Endress+Hauser Liquiline CM442: multiparameter water-analysis transmitter family for supported digital sensors such as pH, ORP, conductivity, oxygen, chlorine and turbidity. Each line item must identify full model and associated probe, sample system and spare parts.
Analyzer shelters and sample conditioning
- Identify whether the deliverable is analyzer only, sampling probe, heated tube, pressure regulation, chiller, filter, shelter or a complete package.
- Supply gas composition ranges and interfering constituents; specify moisture, dust, corrosives, sample pressure and temperature.
- State sample transport distance, conditioning and calibration gas cylinders/certification; include waste/vent management.
- Define alarm logic, PLC/DCS communications, event handling and maintenance/calibration scope.
- For CEMS/emissions, provide end-user and regulator standards, analyzer qualification and witnessed FAT/SAT requirements.
- Specify spare sensors/reagents, consumables, repair kit and maintenance frequency.
Instrument analyzer vs safety gas detector
A fixed safety gas detector for LEL, H₂S or toxic gas protection is designed for alarming and risk mitigation; it should not be substituted for a process composition analyzer without an engineered review. Conversely, an analyzer designed for process trending is not automatically a compliant safety detector. Clarify gas detector panels, F&G voting logic and shutdown interface separately.
Water treatment and RO analyzers
Specify whether online conductivity, pH, oxidation/reduction potential, turbidity, residual chlorine, dissolved oxygen or temperature is required. Sample temperature, media pressure, flow cell, sensor cleaning and calibration solutions all affect sensor life. For desalination and wastewater sites, include remote transmitter/enclosure and data logging requirements as well as probes and fittings.
