Diesel & Water Tanker Remote Monitoring Systems

For mobile diesel and water delivery fleets in Saudi Arabia, AMAC can assess integrated measurement and remote-monitoring requirements that combine the appropriate tanker level sensor, optional transfer flowmeter, GPS/telematics unit, communication link and reporting dashboard. The objective is reliable operational visibility rather than merely collecting a location pin.

Monitoring capabilities to define in your project scope

Tank level & estimated volume

Use a compatible level measurement device and calibrated tank geometry to estimate inventory. Diesel and water have different probe, seal and cleaning requirements. Vehicle tilt and sloshing affect dynamic readings.

GPS vehicle visibility

Vehicle location, trip history, geofences, route checkpoints and station arrivals can be recorded with suitable connectivity and fleet permissions.

Delivery and refill events

Combine level change, pump/valve status or flow-totalizer data to infer delivery events. Validate against signed delivery notes before treating volume as commercially settled.

Remote dashboard & alerts

Review timestamped level history, possible leaks, unusual withdrawals, overflow/high-level warnings, low stock and communication outages, with a named operator responsible for responses.

Diesel versus water tankers: critical measurement differences

Diesel compatibility requires appropriate fuel-rated materials, vapor and hazardous-area consideration. Drinking-water fleets need hygienic materials and cleaning suitability. For both, sensor selection must account for tanker compartments, baffles, height-to-volume calibration and angle/temperature effects. A level sensor reading cannot automatically be labeled a certified custody-transfer measurement.

Typical system architecture

Tank sensor → protected onboard data acquisition/telemetry unit → mobile network → cloud or customer server → operations dashboard and alarm escalation. A pulse/Modbus flowmeter, GPS receiver, pump status and driver acknowledgment may be integrated where supported. Ask for offline buffering when mobile coverage is intermittent.

Recommended phased implementation

  1. Survey: document tanker capacities, number of compartments, vehicle power, existing instrumentation, SIM coverage and safety rules.
  2. Instrument selection: validate sensor location, mounting, hazardous-area suitability, tank dimensions and calibration method.
  3. Proof-of-concept: instrument a limited set of vehicles and compare sensor-derived values with known measured fills/deliveries.
  4. Dashboard acceptance: test level history, alarms, connectivity loss, user roles, downloads and fleet reports.
  5. Scale-out: approve mounting standard, installation procedures, training, support and warranty/maintenance responsibilities.

What to send for an AMAC tanker monitoring RFQ

  • Fleet count and tanker types: diesel, water or other liquids
  • Tank dimensions/capacity and compartments per vehicle
  • Expected accuracy and whether measurements are for operations or invoicing
  • GPS/geofencing, driver app, alerts and reporting requirements
  • Existing sensors and flowmeters, if any, plus power and communication
  • Required integration with dispatch, billing, ERP or existing vehicle tracking
  • Pilot quantity, installation city, implementation dates and HSE constraints

Application beyond mobile tankers

The same engineering principles can support fixed diesel day tanks, plant storage tanks, utility water reservoirs and pump systems, with the right measurement devices, alarm logic and integration design. Actual hardware and software capabilities are proposed against the approved technical scope.

OEM model references are for technical identification and do not claim distributor authorization, stock on hand or guaranteed performance. Manufacturer specifications and approved quotations govern supply.

Fuel metering within tanker operations

Level and GPS telemetry provides operational visibility; sales quantity/custody transfer requires appropriately approved and verified meters.
