Water measurement suitability
As an electromagnetic flowmeter, the SITRANS MAG 8000 measures electrically conductive liquids. It is useful for water distribution and network monitoring, subject to manufacturer-specified conductivity and installation. It does not normally measure diesel or petrochemical hydrocarbons. For a fuel transfer application, compare LC positive displacement or liquid turbine meters instead.

Model code examples are exact-order variants
Siemens’ official SiePortal lists MAG 8000 order codes such as 7ME6810 series for standard battery-operated meter variants, and related CT-series order codes. Different suffixes encode diameter, pipe connection, calibration, communications and installation details. Do not assume a DN80 unit can be converted into DN200 by altering the configured display range. Include the full 7ME… order code and nameplate for any replacement.
ABB AquaMaster FEW432 vs Siemens MAG 8000
Both are water-focused electromagnetic meter families. Utility selection should compare actual battery/communication features, end-user standards, supply power, legal metrology, approved DN range and maintenance access.
